Bachelor of Computer Science
Learn to design, build, and manage the technologies that drive change with a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCompSc) from UC.
Whether you choose to complete the general Computer Science programme, or major in Artificial Intelligence or Cybersecurity and Networking, the BCompSc goes well beyond coding and computer programming; this degree equips you to enter the rapidly evolving technology sector with the necessary skills and knowledge to ethically and securely shape impactful technologies for the future.

Bachelor of Computer Science
- Choose the general Computer Science programme, or one of two majors: Artificial Intelligence, or Cybersecurity and Networking.

Bachelor of Computer Science
To enrol in the BCompSc at UC you will need:
- University Entrance (or equivalent). UC offers transition programmes for those who need help meeting these requirements.
- If English is not your first language, you are also required to meet UC's Undergraduate language requirements. See how to provide your English language evidence to UC. If you need help meeting these requirements, or would like to practise your English skills before studying, UC offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) language programmes.
You may also gain entry to the Bachelor of Computer Science via the Diploma in University Studies (Domestic) or Diploma in University Studies (International) which is an alternative first year of the degree offering additional support.

Bachelor of Computer Science
The Bachelor of Computer Science requires a minimum total of 360 points:
- at least 255 points from computing courses
- the remaining 105 points can be from either computing courses or courses from other degrees.
A minimum of 225 points must be from courses above 100-level, with at least 90 points at 300-level.
The degree takes 3 years of full-time study, or can be studied part-time for up to 10 years.
Majors and minors
BCompSc students have the option of completing either:
- A general programme in Computer Science (no major)
- A major
- A major and a minor.
Each major has specific course requirements, but all consist of a minimum of 120 points in a single subject. Of these, at least 90 points are at 300-level and include a final project course.
A minor consists of a minimum of 75 points, including at least 45 points above 100-level, in a single subject chosen from Arts, Commerce, Digital Screen, Health, Product Design, Science, Sport, or Youth and Community Leadership degrees.
Bachelor of Computer Science
The Bachelor of Computer Science offers in-depth studies in computing, as well as flexible options to either study the general programme, or to include a major and/or minor in specialised computing or other general subjects at UC.
