The Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Science (PGDipPsycSc) offers advanced study in psychology and can lead to further postgraduate study or employment in psychology-related fields.

The PGDipPsycSc is made up of a total 120 points, which includes a compulsory 15-point research capstone course. The remaining points are made up of advanced elective psychology courses.
Beginning in either February or July each year, the Diploma will take one year full-time to complete, or up to four years part-time.

A total of 45 points (including CFPY and SSCI courses) can be selected from non-PSYC courses at an equivalent level, with approval from Tumuaki Kura | Head of School.
Note that you will need to include PSYC678 as one of your electives if you want to progress onto further postgraduate Psychology studies, such as a master’s degree.

UC offers a Master of Arts (Thesis) and a Master of Science in Psychology or Child and Family Psychology.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Science prepares you for further postgraduate study in Psychology. The research skills and theoretical knowledge developed during the Postgraduate Diploma can support roles in research, policy, evaluation, and data analysis across a range of sectors, as well as non-registered roles in mental health or rehabilitation.
Graduates may work in a variety of contexts or career pathways, including government agencies, public organisations, NGOs, private companies, or academic research environments.
