The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Biotechnology (PGDipAppBiotech) at UC is designed to develop professional capability and innovation in contemporary biotechnology.
Combining the study of molecular biology, biochemistry, and synthetic biology with hands-on laboratory training and computational analysis, you will learn how to evaluate and responsibly apply biotechnological approaches across industrial, agricultural, and environmental contexts, contributing to biotechnology development.
The PGDipAppBiotech can also be a pathway into UC’s Master of Applied Biotechnology.
To apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Biotechnology, you will need to have previously completed a university bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to Biotechnology, or other approved subjects, with at least a B- grade average (or other equivalent qualifications).

The PGDipAppBiotech is made up of a total 120 points, which includes seven compulsory courses and one elective course.
Beginning in February or July, the Diploma will take 1 year of full-time study to complete, or up to 5 years part-time.

UC also offers a Master of Applied Biotechnology.
