The Master of Applied Biotechnology at UC develops applied scientific, ethical, and regulatory expertise to the creation of contemporary biotechnology.
Through a flexible timetable of compulsory and elective courses you will become equipped with practical laboratory, computational, and analytical skills, alongside training in ethics, regulation, and responsible innovation that can be applied to biotech roles across numerous sectors.
The Master’s degree concludes with an applied project to use your expertise to solve real-world scenarios with clients.
To apply for the Master of Applied Biotechnology, you will need to have previously completed a university bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to Biotechnology, with at least a B grade average (or other equivalent qualifications).

The MAppBiotech is made up of a total 180 points, which includes seven compulsory courses, a 30-point project course, and 45 points of elective courses.
Beginning in February or July, the master's degree will take 1.5 years of full-time study to complete, or up to 5 years part-time.

2028 Special Programme Fee: $63,300 (180 points)
You may choose to go onto UC’s Master of Science majoring in Biotechnology or Biological Sciences. Completing 120 points from the MAppBiotech qualifies you to apply for entry to Part II (research thesis) of the MSc degree, provided GPA requirements are met.
Master of Applied Biotechnology graduates will seek employment at an advanced level within biotechnology industries, research institutions, regulatory agencies, and innovation-driven enterprises.
