Graduates of the Master of Chemical and Process Engineering will have advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of both chemical engineering and process engineering, and be qualified to join the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand and the Institute of Chemical Engineers (UK).
To gain entry into the MCAPEng you must hold a bachelor’s degree in Applied Technology, Science or Engineering including specific content relevant to chemical and process engineering. A minimum B grade average is required.
Students with a BSc or equivalent will be required to complete the Graduate Certificate in Chemical and Process Engineering to enter the master’s programme.

The Master of Chemical and Process Engineering is made up of 180 points including six compulsory courses and at least 30 points from five elective courses.
Courses are taught on campus.
This degree may be completed in a minimum of 18 months full-time study, or up to three years part-time.

You may go on to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) studies after completion of this degree.
Graduates of the Master of Chemical and Process Engineering will be prepared for employment as professional engineers specialising in chemical and process engineering.
Graduates will also be equipped for further specialised study and research in the field of chemical and process engineering.
