The Graduate Certificate in Chemical and Process Engineering at UC provides a structured pathway into our Master of Chemical and Process Engineering.
The Graduate Certificate integrates core chemical and process engineering principles with design-focused learning, ensuring graduates can demonstrate and apply advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of chemical engineering and process engineering.
For entry to the Graduate Certificate in Chemical and Process Engienering you will need to have qualified for an Aotearoa New Zealand Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or equivalent with at least a B Grade average and have taken at least 30 points of 100-level mathematics, 15 points of 200-level mathematics, 15 points of 100-level biology, and 15 points of 100-level chemistry.

The GradCertCAPEng is made up of 90 points, comprised of six compulsory 15-point courses.
The programme begins in February or July and is completed within nine months of full-time study.

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Chemical and Process Engineering you must complete all compulsory courses:

2028 tuition fee estimate: $42,200 (120 points)
Graduates may progress to the Master of Chemical and Process Engineering (MCAPEng).
Graduates of the GCertCAPEng may enter technical or operational engineering roles that do not require professional engineering accreditation.
