The Postgraduate Certificate in Policy and Governance in the Pacific (PGCertPAGP) is designed to meet the growing demand for culturally grounded, practice-oriented training in public policy and governance across Aotearoa New Zealand and other Pacific states.
This Certificate consists of two courses and is a combination of theory and practical application that can be tailored to match your interests and professional context.
You will need to have either a bachelor’s degree (in any subject) with at least a B grade average in 60 points of your 300-level courses, or relevant professional or work experience.
If English is not your first language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements. If you need help meeting these requirements, or would like to practise your English skills before studying, UC offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) language programmes.

The PGCertPAGP is made up of a total 60 points, or two compulsory courses. Both courses include a mixture of introductory theory and applied case studies and other practical work.
Starting in February or July, the programme will take up to one year of part-time study.

2024 SSL: $9.17 per point ($1,100.40 for 120 points)
2025 SSL: $9.72 per point ($1,166.40 for 120 points)
Developing skills in policy making and governance will set you up for a wide range of careers both in New Zealand and the Pacific.
You will be prepared to work with Iwi, Pacific organisations, NGO’s, and government agencies in policy development and governance processes.
