Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision

UC’s Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision is an opportunity to develop your leadership and supervisory skills in order to support workplaces and their employees to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. 

Through in-depth inquiry you will become an advanced supervision practitioner with the skills to enhance your supervisory practice, contribute to the development of supervision frameworks, and potentially move into education, training, or consultancy roles.


Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision

  • Leadership development courses on how to best manage and motivate others in their roles.
  • Tailor your supervision training towards a range of fields, such as engineering project management, healthcare or medical clinical supervision, business management, and other leadership roles.
  • Flexible courses so you can either study fully online or do some in-person training at our campuses.

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision

To apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision you will need to have previously studied an Aotearoa New Zealand bachelor’s degree with at least a B grade average, or an equivalent qualification.

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision

The PGDipProfSup is made up of 120 points, including two fully online compulsory courses, at least 60 points chosen from electives. The elective courses are delivered either online or in person at UC’s main campus or Manawa near Christchurch Hospital.

Beginning in February or July, the Diploma will take one year of full-time study, or up to four years of part-time study.

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision

This programme is suited to both current and emerging leaders developing their supervisory skills.

Graduates of the PGDipProfSup can work as a professional supervisor in the health, education, engineering, or social services sector, or other industries. There is also scope to work as an educator, trainer, or consultant in the professional supervision space.
