Build your creative and analytical skills with the Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Communication (PGCertStratCom), open to students of any study background to help you learn about planning and implementing communications campaigns.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Communication is offered on campus or fully online through Tuihono UC | UC Online.
To apply for the Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Communication, you will need to have either a bachelor's degree (with a minimum B GPA in your final year courses, or three years relevant work experience) or have at least five years of relevant practical or professional experience.
If English is not your first language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements. If you need help meeting these requirements, or would like to practise your English skills before studying, UC offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) language programmes.

The PGCertStratCom is made up of 60 points of compulsory courses, which vary depending on whether you are studying the Certificate in person on campus, or fully online.
You can start in February or July if studying in-person; or in February, July, or September if studying online.
The Certificate will take six months full-time to complete, or within two years part-time.

2025 SSL: $9.72 per point ($583.20 for 60 points)
UC offers a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Communication and a Master of Strategic Communication , which include the same courses as the Certificate plus additional electives and applied project work.
You can transfer your completed courses in the Certificate to the Diploma or Master's degree, with approval.
Being able to create messaging with impact is a highly sought after skill, particularly in roles working with brand identity, customer or public relations, and even internal communications.
This Certificate will lead you to writing and editorial roles, publishing, media, creative agencies, marketing, and advocacy.
