On Wednesday evening, we celebrated our 2025 medallists and recently appointed Emeritus Professors.
Pou Whakarae Professor Te Maire Tau opened the event with a mihi whakatau, followed by a welcoming address to the medallists, Emeritus Professors, their friends and whānau from Tumu Kaunihera | Chancellor Hon Amy Adams.
Tumu Whakarae | Vice-Chancellor Professor Cheryl de la Rey announced our newly appointed Emeritus Professors: Ramakrishnan Mukundan, Euan Mason, Andrew Cockburn and Markus Milne in recognition of their influential contributions to research, teaching, community support and administrative service.
The title of Emeritus Professor is presented to a person in recognition of their academic service to the University and is awarded by the UC Council.
Tumu Tuarua Rangahau | Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation Professor Lucy Johnston presented the 2025 Research medals to Professors Natalia Chaban and Matthew Stott, and the Innovation medal to Professor Nick Draper.
The final medals of the night, the 2025 Teaching medals, were presented by Tumu Tuarua Akoranga | Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Catherine Moran to Professor Ann-Marie Kennedy and Associate Professor Chris North.
