6. Complete your enrolment

12 February 2026

Once your courses are approved and you have received your new student visa, you can complete your enrolment. Find out what to do next and get in touch if you need help.

HOW TO APPLY
a

If you are new to UC

Once your visa and flights are confirmed, book an appointment with the Enrolments team on campus (ideally a few days before lectures begin) to complete your enrolment.

Upload a copy of your visa in the Document Library in myUC and check a copy of your passport is there too.  Check your contact details are up-to-date in your myUC profile, including your term address (where you will be living while you study).

Attend your appointment with the Enrolments team in Te Pātaka (Puaka-James Hight), taking your passport and visa with you. Accept the Enrolment Agreement you will be given and pay any outstanding fees to complete your enrolment.

Sign up for the international welcome for new students here.

b

If you are a returning UC student

You don't need to book an appointment to complete your enrolment in person if you've already shown us your passport, but must instead send a copy of your new visa to student-visa@canterbury.ac.nz (including your student ID number in the subject line) to get an Enrolment Agreement generated.

Once you've accepted the Enrolment Agreement and paid any outstanding fees, your enrolment will be complete.

Check your contact details are up-to-date in your profile in myUC, including your term address (where you will be living while you're studying).

IF ANYTHING HAS CHANGED

If things have changed since your last enrolment period, you'll need to let us know and provide a copy of the relevant documentation.

  • New passport - email a copy of the photo page of your new passport and include your student ID number in the subject line.
  • New qualification - email a copy of your new visa for the new qualification and include your student ID number in the subject line.
  • New residency status - email a copy of your citizenship documentation and passport, including your student ID number in the subject line.
  • New study mode (eg online to on campus) - if you've arrived on campus after studying offshore, you will need to visit the Enrolments team in person to show them your passport and visa. Book an appointment here
