Guided campus tours
Guided campus tours visit the library, bookshop, lecture theatres, student social and study spaces, and some of our fantastic new learning facilities. Our Tour Guides give insider knowledge of different areas of the university.
Campus tours are scheduled on most Fridays during term time. At other times, you are welcome to take a self-guided campus tour.
Campus tours start at 10am sharp from the Matariki building student services area.
Good footwear, weather suitable clothing and snacks help for an enjoyable tour.
Tours are not available on weekends or Public Holidays.
Please contact campustours@canterbury.ac.nz if you require further information.
Please book in with a Liaison Officer if you require course planning advice.
Halls of Residence
A visit to the halls of residence can be added to your tour booking form. Please click that you would 'like to visit the halls of residence' and follow the prompts. Each hall of residence takes 30 minutes to view, and you will be required to make your own way to each at the time you have booked for. Maps will be provided to assist.
Please contact the Hall of Residence(s) directly if you are interested in visiting on a date a Hall Tour tour isn't offered.
From September 16th tour of the Halls of Residence will only be available by individual appointment. Please contact the Hall of Residence(s) directly if you are interested in visiting.
You may also choose to watch recordings of the hall webinars held in September 2020 to get a feel for each hall.
Faculty Visits
Faculty visits are an opportunity to gain better insight into the degree you are looking at studying. These visits are variable but most offer a tour through spaces you will be using for your degree and include expert advice from student advisors/current students.
You will first take a general campus tour then be taken to the 2 areas you have chosen when booking.
These run on the first Friday of every month and throughout the school holidays.
