Te Rā Tūhura | Discovery Day invites tau (year) 12 students and teachers from across Christchurch and Canterbury to spend a day on campus exploring what university could look like for them.

The event offers students the chance to experience UC first-hand. Participants create their own timetable, attend short lectures, explore different subjects and discover how their interests at school could lead to future study and career pathways.

Throughout the day, students experience the rhythm of campus life, meet others considering university and gain useful insights to help inform decisions about tau 13 subjects and future study options.

During Discovery Day students can: 

• Attend short lectures across a range of UC subjects

• See how school subjects connect to university study

• Learn about different degree and career pathways

• Understand what makes university study different from school 

• Explore UC’s campus and student facilities

• Discover the support available to help students succeed

• Enjoy lunch and connect with other students considering UC

Te Rā Tūhura | Discovery Day is designed to help students feel confident about their next steps, providing the information and inspiration needed to begin planning their journey to university.
