Changing Your Preferences Before the Application Deadline
If you have already ranked your BE(Hons) discipline choices and later change your mind, you may resubmit your ranked discipline choices up until 1 November.
- Only your most recent submission will be considered.
- There is no limit to the number of times you can update your preferences before the deadline.
Students are encouraged to carefully consider their final rankings (due 1 November), as changes after this date are not guaranteed.
Changing Your Discipline After You Receive an Offer
If you wish to change your discipline choice after receiving an official offer, you are required to submit a Change of Discipline request. Important things to know:
- approval of Change of Discipline requests is not guaranteed
- requests are considered at the discretion of the faculty
- the window to complete a Change of Discipline request is the week before semester 1 starts and closes at 5pm on Tuesday of the first week of semester 1.
How the Process Works
Students who submit a Change of Discipline request will be considered only if a place becomes available.
- Consideration occurs after the release of Summer School results, which is just prior to the start of Semester 1 lectures.
- Offers are made based on availability, eligibility, and relative GPA ranking.
Please note that applying does not guarantee approval of your Change of Discipline request, even if you have received a first‑round offer in another discipline.
Timing Considerations
Because Change of Discipline requests are processed late in the allocation cycle, students should be aware that outcomes may not be confirmed until shortly before Semester 1 begins.
Advice will be provided if changes to enrolment are required.
Key dates and what they mean
- Up until 1 November: You may re‑rank and resubmit discipline choices; most recent submission applies
- 1 November: Final discipline rankings due; later changes not guaranteed
- Week before Semester 1: Change of Discipline requests open for students holding an offer
- 5pm, Tuesday of the first week of Semester 1: Change of Discipline requests close
- After Summer School results: Requests reviewed if places become available
- Just before Semester 1: Outcomes confirmed
