How we treat robots matters. Even though robots may not feel pain, humans show concern when robots are abused. Virtue Ethics is one of the frameworks to judge how virtuous or vicious a human acted towards a robot. Conducting experiments remains difficult since it is difficult to manipulate the actions of the moral agents and to measure their virtue. The goal of this project is to develop a set of validated stimuli that can be used in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) experiments. In addition, measurement instruments (self-report, behavioural, or physiological) need to be developed and validated.
