The Foley Research Team is looking for enthusiastic applicants to develop projects in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry. We aim to support suitably qualified candidates in applying for relevant PhD scholarships.
Current research priorities that we are keen to develop further include:
• Structure-led design of natural product-derived lead compounds, including kinase inhibitors.
• Synthesis of natural product-derived and -inspired compound libraries for bioactive discovery.
• Development of enabling cross-coupling reactions (both metal-catalysed and metal-free).
• Exploration of novel rearrangement chemistry, with a particular focus on organosilicon transformations.
See our website for further details:- https://foleynz.wixsite.com/foleylab/opportunities
If you are passionate about advancing these areas and have a strong background in synthetic chemistry, please get in touch (daniel.foley@canterbury.ac.nz).
