Engineering is the first area where new arrangements are being introduced. These will make it easier for students to move between UC and Ara and have relevant previous study recognised.
For Engineering students, the new arrangements will:
support students moving from UC’s Engineering First Year into Ara’s Bachelor of Engineering Technology with cross-credit recognition
provide a pathway for New Zealand Diploma in Engineering graduates to progress into UC’s Bachelor of Engineering with Honours
provide greater certainty about how previous study will be recognised and reduce unnecessary duplication.
The partnership is the first of its kind in New Zealand between a university and a polytechnic.
And it’s not just about Engineering. The wider agreement creates opportunities for UC and Ara to explore future collaboration in areas including Health, the Creative Arts and Education, as well as research and other opportunities that support students and the future workforce.
