Cuneiform Tablet

Babylonian, c. 1700 BC
Acc #: 96.68, James Logie Memorial Collection
From the Collection of Dr HD Broadhead

Cuneiform TabletA narrow tablet inscribed on both sides with lines of Babylonian cuneiform. This is another administrative text listing the names of individuals granted plots of land of between 1 bur (buru) and 1 gan totalling 9 bur and 3 iku. An iku equals one quarter acre, or one thirty-sixth of a bur. The tablet is undated but probably comes from around 1700 BC.
