Real-time Active Mixing of Multi-part Silicone for 3D Printing Composite Materials for Smart Materials

Smart materials have many applications as they allow for in object sensing, the creation of these smart materials is often a slow and messy process. Creating complex shapes with silicone based smart materials has been done using 3D printers with pre-mixed silicone and carbon black. This project explores the idea of mixing the silicone during the extruding process, allowing for more flexibility while printing and increased ease of use.
