Graduates from the Master of Forestry Science (MForSc) within the research pathway and the PhD can also look at careers with research agencies or secondary/tertiary institutions.

The MForSc has three separate pathways with a combination of courses and a six-month research report; courses and a one-year thesis; or thesis alone depending on the career pathway the student wishes to pursue on graduation. Individuals enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Forestry (PGDipFor) can apply to transfer to the second year of the MForSc with a suitable Grade Point Average.
