Earth, climate & atmosphere

02 October 2026

Measuring, modelling and understanding weather, climate and environmental change in our region and globally, to underpin decision-making in response to climate change and support future generations.

HOW TO APPLY

UC researchers investigate weather, climate and environmental change across the atmosphere, oceans, cryosphere and land.

Through advanced monitoring, modelling and data analysis, they generate the knowledge needed to understand past, present and future environmental conditions, improve climate and hazard forecasting, and inform responses to climate change.

This research supports evidence-based decision-making by governments, businesses and communities, helping build resilience, protect ecosystems and infrastructure, and create a sustainable future for generations to come.
