New-to-UC students arrived to take their first steps into university life, making Welcome Day critical in grounding students at UC, strengthening community connections, and setting them on a path for success.
It provides an informative and inclusive start to the academic year, helping students prepare for Semester 1 through campus tours, subject information sessions, and opportunities to meet lecturers, student advisors, and fellow students. Whānau were also welcomed, gaining insight into the support available as students transition into study and campus life.
Students were introduced to the wide range of support available at UC, including Kia Angitu, UC’s internationally recognised student success programme, which provides tailored guidance and resources to support first-year transition. They also had the chance to experience UC’s vibrant campus culture and explore opportunities to connect and get involved.
As UC continues to grow, the campus is evolving alongside its people, with new facilities for learning, living and connecting - from additional on-campus accommodation and a vibrant recreation and wellbeing centre to world-leading facilities at Kōawa Studios.
Each development reflects UC’s commitment to supporting a growing student community and ensuring every learner can flourish.
