Eleven academics, who will assume their roles as professors in 2026, were recognised at yesterday’s staff celebration event alongside their whānau, colleagues, and senior leaders.
Tumu Tuarua Rangahau | Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, Professor Lucy Johnston, says the promotions reflect the depth of talent and commitment across the university.
“These academics continue to set the standard for excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. Their leadership and expertise advance UC’s research strengths and educational mission, creating and sharing knowledge that makes a tangible difference.”
To be promoted to professor is a recognition of sustained excellence, influence within one’s field, and meaningful contributions to UC’s academic mission and community.
