Today, the celebrations continue. Many of our new graduates are being honoured at UC Eke Tangaroa and Pacific Graduation ceremonies – occasions that acknowledge their academic journey and the vital support of their whānau, aiga, and wider community.
Combined with our April ceremonies, the University has proudly celebrated almost 4,000 new graduates this year. They are highly skilled, industry-ready and eager to make their mark.
From innovative engineers and creative entrepreneurs to compassionate health professionals and pioneering researchers, our graduates are already enriching our region’s communities, strengthening our industries, and helping shape a better future.
UC focuses on real-world learning and career readiness. Our graduates leave with more than a qualification – they leave ready to thrive. UC is ranked #2 in New Zealand for employability outcomes, and many of those who remain in New Zealand choose to work in Canterbury – in fact, one in two UC graduates stay here, contributing their skills directly to the region’s growth and vitality.
Their success is shaped by the opportunities of studying in Ōtautahi Christchurch, ranked among the world’s top 100 student cities, where students gain knowledge, confidence, and the connections to contribute meaningfully to their communities and industries.
As they begin the next stage of their journey, we celebrate their achievements and look forward to the paths they will forge. Wherever they go – across Canterbury, New Zealand, or the world – they carry the skills, values, and experiences that will help them thrive and continue making a difference.
