Free lunch-hour workshops are run throughout the year for UC staff and students wishing to gain confidence riding a bike in and around traffic.

The sessions are run with a trained cycle coach, and are a fantastic opportunity to get practical, personalised advice in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

The workshops offer a mix of skill practise in both an an off-road setting and on the roads and cycle-ways surrounding campus.

There is no cost to attend, and loan bikes can be organised on request.

Upcoming UC workshops (2024):

  • Tuesday 5 March, 12pm - 1pm

  • Tuesday 12 March, 12pm - 1pm

  • Tuesday 19 March, 12pm - 1pm

Workshops are led by Paul from Odlin Cycle Coaching, run in collaboration between the UC Sustainability Office and the Christchurch City Council.

Registration is essential and spaces are limited. Please contact chloe.sutton@canterbury.ac.nz to register.

Free public sessions are also held in Ōtautahi Christchurch throughout the year. See here for more information.
