The UC Student Wellbeing team works proactively to help you look after your wellbeing while you study. We share helpful messages, offer peer support, run events that bring people together, and carry out projects that promote wellbeing across campus. Our goal is to help you feel supported, connected, and better equipped to thrive.
If you have any questions or want to learn more about the support available, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Kaiwhakatere Oranga | Wellbeing Navigators
University life can be exciting, but it can also bring challenges that can impact wellbeing. The Wellbeing Navigators are trained students who offer peer support and help normalise the ups and downs of student life. You’ll often find them involved in events like Mental Health Awareness Week, Pink Shirt Day, and weekly activities throughout the academic year. Whether you have a specific question or just feel like talking to someone, they’re always up for a chat.
What’s Happening for Student Wellbeing
The team has opportunities for students to connect, unwind, and look after their wellbeing throughout the year. Many of them take place in The Living Room, a dedicated space on campus for students to relax, connect with others, or take time out between classes. The Living Room is open to all students from 9am to 4pm.
Make sure to check out the Student Wellbeing team's Instagram and posts on Tūpono to keep up to date on a bunch of what's happening.
