HOW TO APPLY

Christmas and New Year opening hours

UC Health Centre is CLOSED from 12 noon Tuesday 23rd December 2025 and reopens 8.30am Tuesday 20th January 2026

Please phone us on 03 369 4444 if you need medical advice. Your call will be transferred to Whakarongorau Aoteroa/NZ Telehealth Services, where trained nurses answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a free service. They can give advice and/or direct patients to clinics who see our patients after-hours.

Routine repeat prescription requests can be sent via Manage My Health - this may take slightly longer than normal over the summer break. 


Urgent care options:

  • Online GP Care - Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. Online consultations with registered healthcare professionals are available 24/7, with subsidies for some people
  • Riccarton Clinic at 4 Yaldhurst Road, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch 8am-8pm 7 days a week, phone 03 343 3661. There is a charge for attendance. 
  • Emergency Department Christchurch Hospital phone 03 364 0640 - Riccarton Avenue, Christchurch Central

Another option for urgent care is:

  • 24 Hour Surgery at 401 Madras Street, Christchurch Central open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week phone 03 365 7777. There is a charge for attendance.

Manage My Health cyber breach

The Manage My Health patient portal has confirmed that a cyber security incident took place at the end of December where some patient documents on its platform were accessed. This includes a small number of UC Health Centre patient records.

If any of your information on Manage My Health has been accessed, the Manage My Health team will notify you soon.

The breach has been contained, and their systems are now working normally. 

If you'd like to see what information you have stored with them, you can log into your Manage My Health account.   

Manage My Health is confirming this information and will notify you as soon as possible.

When you receive a notification from Manage My Health there will be clear instructions on next steps.

Manage My Health will be contacting affected patients. Medical practices are not expected to notify affected users.
