Next steps for returning students

If you've moved into a new flat or changed address since you last studied at UC, update your term address in myUC. Check your mobile number and emergency contact details are correct (so we can contact someone if something unexpected happens to you), and add your IRD number so you can claim final year fees free later if you're eligible.

Course content for courses you are fully enrolled in should be available on LEARN in the week before lectures start.

A small time commitment can make a big difference in a new student’s experience at UC. It’s a great chance to meet new people, develop your leadership and communication skills, and it looks great on your CV. Training will be provided before the start of semester with further training opportunities and networking during the year.

As a mentor, you will be involved in meeting with new students (individually and in groups) to help them become established on campus. Throughout the year, you would have the opportunity to guide and support students who may be new to university or even new to New Zealand.

Your student email account is active for the duration of your time at UC and is where communication from UC is sent during term time. You should be checking your student email account at least weekly.
