Building on your existing knowledge in health or sports science, the MCEP will equip you with the skills to work autonomously as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in allied health teams.
Study and clinical practice hours within the MCEP will contribute towards your application for accreditation as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with Clinical Exercise Physiology New Zealand (CEPNZ) and Sport and Exercise Science New Zealand (SESNZ), as well as other international accreditation bodies.
As an MCEP graduate and accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist you will have the ability to critique and resolve complex health presentations, and improve health outcomes for individuals, whānau, and communities through exercise physiology.

The MCEP is made up of 180 points, consisting of compulsory courses in sport science and health research, plus either a final dissertation or a research project and additional elective courses.
You can start the MCEP in February or July each year. The programme will take either 1.5 years to study full-time, or can be completed within 3 years part-time.
