  2. The course CFPY501 - Models of Practice in Child and Family Psychology for this year’s Summer School offering
  3. The course CFPY502 - Professional Skills and Practicum for the next academic year’s offering
Important Course information

CFPY 501 – Models of Practice in Child and Family Psychology starts in November each year and continues, with a four week break from the middle of December to the middle of January, with the last class being at the end of January.

The following academic year, starting in February, will be a very full one with CFPY 502 – Professional Skills and Practicum requiring at least 1 day a week in class with additional workshops including Triple P, Treaty of Waitangi, Noho Marae and CBT with children, as well as two placements. These typically run for 10weeks (two days per week), however one may be a four week block (5 days per week).

Thesis submission needs to be imminent prior to applying to the Psychologists’ Board for registration as an intern psychologist for your internship year in the second full time year of your study. We urge our students to work on their thesis over the coming summer.

You have been offered a place in this year's cohort, which requires you to enrol in and complete CFPY 501 this summer, and CFPY 502 next year. Acceptance cannot be deferred.

Your CFPY501 course coordinator is Associate Professor Karyn France. Karyn will email your course outline, timetable and other relevant information. Classes will be every Monday over the summer, with a four-week Christmas break.
