Study Tour to Asia

BSNS228

05 February 2026

3 weeks in November 2026, with pre-departure activities during S2

This three-week study tour will take students to two countries: Singapore and China. It provides firsthand insights into the opportunities and challenges for organisations wishing to conduct business in these countries. Applications open soon.

HOW TO APPLY
Programme Information

The core of the programme involves business visits and meetings in two countries:

  • Singapore (7 nights)
  • China (13 nights)

In addition, it includes a range of social and cultural activities, as well as free days to explore each country on your own.

The course itself has a deeply practical focus, including a project where you will work in a group to undertake research and develop recommendations for a client interested in expanding in the region, allowing you to learn about the factors that are important for making good decisions about where and how to expand internationally.

There is also a strong focus on preparing you to function effectively across cultures in your future careers and lives. Linked to this, you will explore cultural differences that may require adaptation at an individual level, utilising the cultural intelligence framework as a tool to identify and develop strategy for navigating these.

While the study tour component is three-week long, the course also consists of workshops, activities and assessment items beforehand and afterwards.

The study tour is part of BSNS228, which is a 15-point 200-level course.
