Lisa Tumahai – UC Council member
Lisa joined the UC Council in November 2023. Prior to that, she spent the past seven years as Kaiwhakahaere | Chair of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, the first woman to hold such a senior role within Ngāi Tahu. Lisa is a respected and sought-after adviser in both the public and private sectors. She was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2023 New Year Honours. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UC and also studied at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Bruce Irvine – UC Council member
Bruce joined the UC Council in January and brings more than three decades of experience as an independent director and adviser to a wide range of businesses. With expertise in providing financial, strategic and governance advice, and operating as an independent director for the last 30 years, Bruce has been a key figure in various industries. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from UC.
Hon Poto Williams – UC Council member
As a former Minister of Parliament, Poto spent the last decade as the MP for Christchurch East before joining the UC Council in January this year. She has wide experience with previously held ministerial portfolios and has worked in a variety of communities with specific needs and responses. Poto has an MBA from Southern Cross University, Australia.
Luc MacKay – Tumuaki | UCSA President
Luc MacKay (BCom) is the UCSA’s 2024 Tumuaki | President and will represent students in UC Council meetings.
