About the Event
Join University of Canterbury students and staff for a Bioblitz exploration around the campus to discover all living things as part of the City Nature Challenge 2026.
This is an annual competition where participants endeavour to upload the most observations of the natural world. The University of Canterbury Campus Bioblitz will contribute to this global challenge by competing against cities worldwide. So come and help record the diverse flora and fauna of Christchurch while supporting the University's research efforts.
Alongside experts and aspiring naturalists, you'll likely learn something new about the natural world. The event is suitable for people of all ages and skill levels.
We will be moving across various locations throughout this event. However, on the hour, we will meet at these set locations, so you can join in at these times to suit your day:

You have until Sunday, May 10th, to upload your photos to iNaturalist to ensure your observations count towards the challenge final tallies.
