Support services
Burnett Foundation Aotearoa
Now known as the Burnett Foundation, this organisations was long known as the New Zealand AIDS Foundation and has been at the forefront of community response to HIV in Aotearoa for nearly 40 years. They have centres in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), and Ōtautahi (Christchurch). They provide HIV and STI testing, counselling, group support and other services for rainbow communities at these centres, as well as remotely for people anywhere in Aotearoa.

Community Law Canterbury
Community Law is a not-for-profit organisation that works to reduce and remove barriers to the law. They provide accessible, quality legal help to people in Canterbury and the West Coast, who face barriers in accessing justice. Community Law Canterbury offers a general legal advice service, information services, specialist advice, and education services. Community Law has experience supporting those within the rainbow community.

Ōtautahi Christchurch Pride
Ōtautahi Christchurch Pride hosts the annual Ōtautahi pride festival in March. Throughout the year they also support and highlight a number of rainbow community events happening around our city. If you are wanting to get involved in rainbow community event or aren't sure where to start, contacting the folks at pride is a great first step!

LGBTQ+ Book Club
This is a book club for people interested in LGBTQ+ stories to share, discover, and discuss their favorite titles and authors.
Bring along a book you're excited to talk about - a library book, your own copy, an eBook, Audiobook, or just as a fond memory.
This club is held in two different locations: Tūranga (city) on the second Monday of the month at 6pm & Aranui on the last Saturday of the month at 2:30pm.
Free, no bookings required.
