PhD CandidateHongyu Guo
Research Title: Studying Lane Change Behaviour Using Real-world Connected Vehicle Data
Hongyu Guo is currently a PhD student in Transportation Engineering at the University of Canterbury. He received his M.S. in Transportation Engineering from Tongji University and B.S. in Traffic Engineering from Tongji University. He was an experienced road designer before he started his PhD study. His research interests are in applying the connected vehicle technology, bigdata analytic and artificial intelligence to improve the traffic efficiency and safety. Specifically, he is now research lane change behaviour (i.e. lane change prediction, lane change safety analysis and so on) using the large-scale data collected by connected vehicles with deep learning methods. He really hopes his research findings can be used in the daily traffic.
