PhD CandidateForrest Bilek
Research Title: Performance variability in stormwater treatment systems
Forrest's research interests are within the interaction of water with mechanical and ecological treatment processes. More specifically, he is investigating the sources that affect the variability observed in stormwater treatment system performance. Using a variety of standard and innovative field sampling techniques, he is collecting data to quantify the sources of variability. Forrest works closely with his industry sponsor, Stormwater 360, thanks to a research grant from Callaghan Innovation. On the side, he is an amateur snow scientist, particularly during the winter months when on skis. In his free time he enjoys surfing, skiing, and remote kayaking trips in whitewater rivers.
