Please note that your thesis cannot be sent for examination unless your enrolment and fees are up-to-date.
Domestic students
You will receive a notification to advise that your Enrolment Agreement is ready to view and accept on myUC.
If you have not received notification to re-enrol within a week of your enrolment ending or have any questions regarding your enrolment please contact thesis-enrolments@canterbury.ac.nz for assistance.
International students
You must go to the Enrolments team in Te Pātaka where your enrolment will be processed and you will receive your Enrolment Agreement. Please take your passport, current visa and proof of your new visa application (if required).
Student visas
If you have a student visa due to expire in three months or less, you will need to reapply for your next visa from Immigration NZ. You should prepare your visa application documentation and submit your visa application at least one month before your visa expiry date.
If you need more information about how to reapply, good resources include the UC Student Visa page and the Immigration NZ Continuing student visa application checklist.
Please note: if you are planning travel overseas, make sure your current visa is valid on the date you return to NZ. If you have an interim visa you will need to wait until your new visa is approved to leave/re-enter NZ.
If you have not received notification to re-enrol within a week of your enrolment ending for those with a continuing visa, or within a month for those who need to renew their visa, or have any questions regarding your enrolment, please contact thesis-enrolments@canterbury.ac.nz for assistance. Note as the university is no longer an agent for Immigration New Zealand the staff are not able to give you immigration advice.
Queries about your Visa would be best addressed to Immigration New Zealand directly as they make final decisions.
If you need additional assistance you can explore Legal help | University of Canterbury for supports to provide advice in this space. You could also look to engage an Immigration Advisor - this page provides important advice regarding this process and links to supports: Who can give advice? | IAA.
