Supporting Students

  • Kia Angitu: UC's Student Success Programme is a student success programme that brings together a range of interconnected initiatives that focus on the introductory experiences of students as they transition into their first year of study at UC. This includes Takere, ACE and Peer Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS)

  • The Takere Programme is a six-week scholarship and live-in academy programme offered over the summer months between December and February. It aims to develop the skills and confidence Māori and Pacific students need to transition and navigate the university landscape, while strengthening their connection as a cohort.
  • Accommodation updates - Hear about the changes and updates to UC Halls.

  • Scholarships - This video will explain where you and your students can look on our website for up-to-date details, help with understanding the process, and our Scholarship Webinars for applicants.

What impact did Covid have on UC students’ study and how did the university respond & support students? Hear from Andrew Latta (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa), currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at UC.

Unibuddy

Our latest addition to our customer service offering is Unibuddy. This web platform gives users the opportunity to communicate with current UC undergraduate students and get answers to questions about what it's like at UC, different study areas, the student experience, and campus life. Each Unibuddy has a visible profile with what they are studying and where they are from, so users can connect with someone in a simialr situation. Check it out here.
