National Centre for Research on Europe
The National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE) is New Zealand’s only research centre devoted to the study of Europe and the European Union (EU). It fosters research on the EU that is regionally relevant, such as EU development policy in the Pacific, and the EU’s identity in the Asia-Pacific region. It is a focal point for the study of Europe in New Zealand. It attracts visiting academics from all over the world, and hosts the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Studies, which is funded by the European Commission.
The NCRE also hosts a wealth of study opportunities at undergraduate and postgraduate level – Visit our Study page for more information about internships, scholarships and how to enrol, or Apply now.
Our students chose from a multidisciplinary teaching programme that can include a wide range of courses.
Our research focuses on the EU from a number of angles and within the context of New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.
