The Ben Gough Family Foundation Leaders Scholarship

New in 2021, the Ben Gough Family Foundation Leaders Scholarship will support rising talent to undertake their MBA with the University of Canterbury. In addition, students will gain access to an exclusive leadership programme that will accelerate their growth as a leader and expand their thinking.

The Ben Gough Family Foundation, through its founders Ben and Penny Gough, are committed to growing the capacity of Aotearoa New Zealand’s business leaders. Each year, up to three applicants intending to enrol in the MBA will be supported through the scholarship with:

  • The provision of a large portion of the MBA course fees
  • An experiential leadership course (Outward Bound)
  • Leadership coaching (Leadership Lab)
  • An exclusive one-on-one mentoring programme with a successful New Zealand business leader

Applications open on 1 August and close on 1 October.

About the Ben Gough Family Foundation

The Ben Gough Family Office, established by Ben Gough and his wife Penny, comprises Tailorspace, the commercial arm of the business, and the Ben Gough Family Foundation, which, as the family’s charitable vehicle, supports education and community enhancement.

Ben and Penny Gough have a strong interest in promoting the commercial economy of Aotearoa New Zealand within a framework of “Taking the best of Canterbury to the world and bringing the best of the world to Canterbury”.

UC’s MBA programme opens up a wide range of future career options. The Leadership Lab coaching will assist scholars in identifying and building on their strengths, and choosing future leadership opportunities in which they can thrive personally and make a meaningful contribution.
