Ceri de Boo has taught at UC for 10 years and is based in Te Kura Whakawhanake Hautūanga me te Ngaioanga | School of Leadership and Professional Practice in the Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education.
Ceri is a transformative educator who designed and coordinates the Alternative Entry Pathway (AEP) which opens doors for diverse learners and addresses critical shortages in secondary education teachers - particularly in Technology and te reo Māori.
Her teaching philosophy is grounded in relational pedagogy, guided by the values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and tiakitanga. Ceri builds deep, trusting relationships with her students, fostering inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments where every learner feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Student feedback consistently praises her empathy, adaptability, and ability to connect with all learners. Her innovative teaching strategies, including the use of flipped classrooms and Universal Design for Learning, ensure accessibility and engagement for a wide range of students.
Beyond UC, Ceri is a national leader in Technology education, contributing to curriculum redesign, mentoring teachers, and facilitating professional development across Aotearoa. Her work exemplifies excellence, equity, and sustainability in education.
