Rachael Dixon

Dr. Rachael Dixon is interested in investigating the learning outcomes of school-based Health Education and what the subject can 'do' in terms of contribution to people's lives and population benefit. Rachael is interested in post-qualitative and posthuman inquiry and enjoys being creative.

HOW TO APPLY

Rachael Dixon is a powerful educator who models UC values in her teaching and has a coherent and research-connected approach. Rachael’s students are challenged and inspired to grow through the learning in her courses, and to bring the beyond her classroom to bring the benefits of Health Education to the wider population. Her impact also extends to supporting the development of colleagues, working with a local high school to develop culturally responsive pedagogy and she has been influential in the development of new the revised national school curriculum for senior secondary Health Education.

Student feedback for Rachael is glowing as evidenced by her numerous UCSA lecturer of the year awards. Her students describe looking forward to her classes which are “engaging, exciting and fun.” Her whanaungatanga continues to connect graduates to Rachael beyond university and into their careers, regularly continuing her professional connections with students in the workplace.
