HOW TO APPLY

Kari Moana Te Rongopatahi is a truly transformational educator. Her teaching changes lives and influences how people understand themselves, their place in Aotearoa, and their responsibilities as educators. She works across te reo Māori immersion and bilingual programmes, from undergraduate to postgraduate level, with learners who span cultures, generations, and contexts.

The impact of her teaching is felt in individual ākonga who persist through adversity and who graduate transformed; in colleagues who find their own relationship to Te Tiriti for the first time; in institutional systems that have been permanently reshaped by her practice; in communities whose tamariki are now learning in Māori-medium environments that did not exist before she helped build them; and in classrooms across Aotearoa where her students are now passing on what they learned with her to the next generation.
