Hot tips: 

  • Are you having problems with the app? See our Troubleshooting section below.
  • Make sure you log into the app using the same email address that is associated with your membership
  • UC STUDENTS:  eg:  @uclive.ac.nz or @pg.canterbury.ac.nz  
  • UC STAFF:  eg:  @canterbury.ac.nz 
  • OTHER MEMBERS:  Please use the email address you signed up for your membership with.  You can check that here.
  • Our membership system and app are different systems. You use your email address as your username (see above); however, each password will operate independently. We suggest you use the same password for both, to make it easier to remember, and if you change one password, change the other one too!

How To Book a Group Fitness Class

How to book

  • Open your Technogym app
  • Select the "Facility" page from the menu at the bottom 
  • Select the "classes" tab at the top of the screen
  • Choose the day you're interested in and check out what is on offer
  • Once you have found the class you want to attend, press "BOOK"
  • Try using the filters to find a specific class faster

Don't have the app?  

  • Head to our timetable page on the website and book directly there. You'll need to log in using the email/password you use with the app.

How to cancel a class

 

1) Find the class on the timetable in the app/website as per above ^ and press the "CANCEL BOOKING" button

  • This work can only be completed up to 30mins prior to class start time. 
  • It really helps others book into the class if you cancel as soon as you know you've changed your mind! 

Are there penalties if I don't turn up without cancelling?

  • Yes, you will receive a strike against your account for not turning up.
  • If you hit TWO strikes (i.e. two missed classes), then you will be blocked from using the online booking system for 7 days.
  • If you have been blocked from booking online, you are still welcome to turn up and take your chances that there is a spot available.

Can I join a class without booking?

  • Bookings are highly recommended for all of our Group Fitness classes, especially those with limited numbers like Spin and FIT50, or popular classes like Pilates  
  • You may not get a spot if you don't book. We can add you to the class on arrival if there is space, or perhaps try signing up on your way over!
  • If you are sitting on the waitlist, you can come along and try your luck to see if there is space. 
  • Sadly, some members still no-show, which means we have an available spot wasted :(   So, come along, try your luck, but have a back up plan! 

How does the waitlist work? 

  • If someone cancels a class, you can receive a notification or email (you choose in your app settings) that a space has become available 
  • Then, it's fastest finger!   First to respond and book, gets the spot. It doesn't matter where you are on the list.

OnDemand Classes

Classes OnDemand 

Sometimes getting to the gym or fitting in a group fitness class around a busy schedule can be tricky. Why not try some of our OnDemand classes from the comfort of home instead?

How?

  1. From the app home screen tap the [Facility] page at the bottom. Then tap again on the [Facility] tab at the top.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap on [OnDemand].
  3. The first time you access this page you'll need to log in again with your app email/password (tick, remember me so you don't need to log in again).
  4. Browse through the "Recently Added", "Popular" and "Categories" sections.
  5. You can tap the flag at the top right of a video to save it as a favourite for quicker access next time.

After the class, your results will automatically be added to the results tab of the app.

Most classes don't have a warm-up or cool-down so we recommend you conduct your own or select one of the warm-up or cool-down classes before/after your class.

You can flip your device to portrait or landscape to get a better view of the video.

Checkout the variety of different Technogym equipment we have on offer in the UC Rec Centre. All of these machines are linked in with MyWellness so log in, track your progress and be motivated!

What is body composition

Body composition is the percentage of the human body's bone, fat, water, and muscle mass. Using these percentages, it gives a broad range of information about the state of your body and how to set up goals to potentially prevent and/or maintain your body balance. With the analysis of the body's composition, it gives an in-depth insight into your overall physical wellness through the break down of each segment of the body.

Why is it useful?

Some individuals may be the same weight and size but have different activity levels. Take for example an infrequent exerciser and a weekend warrior. A BMI test may show the same scores, but the weight may consist of more muscle or fat.
This shows that they have different:

  • Exercise needs;
  • Nutritional needs;
  • Health risks; and
  • Fitness goals

By knowing your body composition you can use it for motivation, accountability and/or doing more exercise whilst measuring your body fat percentage and muscle changes.

  • We loan you a HR monitor, or you can wear your own ANT+ compatible device
  • Your HR is displayed on screen, with colour zones to show you instantly if you could push a little harder

Having Problems with your App?

 Can't remember your password and the password reset link is not sending you an email?

  • The best way to reset a password is through the website. Visit mywellness.com and use the reset password link from there.
  • Still not getting the reset email? Then open the app and click [Create Account], proceed to create an account again using the exact same details as your existing account.
  • The system will detect your existing account and ask you if you'd like to use that one. You must click Yes and use the existing one.
  • This should trigger a new Activation Email to be sent to you with a new activation link. Make sure to activate the account within 14-days so you don't run into the same issue again.

Can't log into the app?

  • When you first registered for a membership with us, you were sent an email from Technogym MyWellness with a link to finish setting up your account. This is the account you'll use to log into our app. You need to do this before you can make bookings.
  • The link only lasts for 14-days. If it no longer works, please hit the [Create Account] button in the app and make a new account Using the same email you used for the first membership you held with us. The system will detect an existing account and prompt you to use that one. You must click to use the existing account, or you'll have issues.

You are logged in but can't make any bookings?

  • This is likely because you are logged in with an account that is not linked to your Rec & Sport membership. Sometimes duplications happen.
  • The best way to fix this is to log out, then log back in again making sure to use the email address that was associated with the very first membership you held at the UC RecCentre.
  • This was likely a @UClive.ac.nz address. If you're not sure which email to use, ask one of the team to look it up for you.

Is the app not functioning properly or crashing?

  1. Uninstall the app
  2. Fully update your iOS or Android operating system
  3. Re-install the App
  4. Log back in using the email address you used for your very first membership with us. You may have a new email address now, but your account is linked to the first email you signed up with.
  5. Clearing the app's cache may also fix some issues.

Please note, that our app is only supported on iOS and Android operating systems. It does not support rooted or jailbroken devices. It's also not currently supported on tablets.

  • Rotate with your mouse or tap and drag.
