Business and Law Doctoral Scholarships

UC offers a range of scholarships to support students studying towards a research doctoral degree. Learn more about our Business and Law Doctoral scholarships.

HOW TO APPLY

The following doctoral scholarship opportunities are funded by either external organisations, grants, donations and bequests to the university. Discover some of the other scholarships that may assist in funding your doctoral studies below. 

Please note: These scholarships are subject to funding availability and are reviewed each year. The UC Scholarships Office administers most of these scholarships. Please search our scholarships database for all scholarships currently available.

UC Economics and Finance PhD Fees Scholarship

Value: The scholarship covers thesis enrolment tuition fees for up to 360 points.

Details: All students who are enrolled in or have received an unconditional offer for a place in a programme for PhD in Economics or Finance at the University of Canterbury will automatically be considered for the scholarship. Recipients may not already hold a research doctoral degree. 

Closing date: N/A - No separate application is required.

UC Te Kaupeka Ture Faculty of Law PhD Fees Scholarship

Value: The scholarship covers tuition fees for thesis enrolment only, at the Aotearoa New Zealand domestic rate; for up to a total of 360 points.

Details: Applicants must be applying for full-time or part-time admission to a doctoral programme in the Te Kaupeka Ture | Faculty of Law at UC, and be intending to begin their research in the year following the year of application. Recipients may not already hold a research doctoral degree. 

Closing date: 30 November
