Thrive Programme

05 January 2026

Feeling overwhelmed when coming to the new environment to study?

The Thrive Programme is designed to help new international students develop skills needed to succeed throughout their studies and beyond at UC Business School.

HOW TO APPLY
Why Thrive Matters

Starting your studies at UC Business School is exciting, but adjusting to a new education system can take time. Many international students feel confident and ready when they arrive yet are surprised by how different expectations can be in New Zealand.

The Thrive Programme is designed to help you understand these expectations early and develop relevant key skills, so you can study with confidence from the start.

What Thrive helps you with

Through a series of interactive workshops, Thrive supports you to:

  • Understand what is expected in assignments
  • Avoid common academic integrity issues before they happen
  • Develop critical thinking skills and apply them
  • Start thinking about career readiness while you study

These are areas where many students only seek help after encountering difficulties. Thrive helps you build these skills proactively.

Thrive also supports your wider student journey. You will have opportunities to:

  • Connect with other international students
  • Learn from experienced staff and external professional guest speakers
  • Explore how your studies link to future career pathways
  • Build confidence navigating university life in New Zealand
