Petrographics Laboratory

The school operates its own petrography preparation suite. This facility is used to produce in house research and teaching samples for both Academic staff and Post Graduate students.  It has a wide range of cutting, grinding, impregnation and polishing equipment. Included in this lab is a Logitech LP50, and gear from Struers, Buhler, Leco and other equipment providers. Postgrad students are expected to assist in their own sample preparation depending on the project. There is a resident technician who produces staff sections.
