Prepare yourself to take on a 10km or half marathon event!
It is recommended that you can continuously run at a light pace for 25–30minutes twice a week if you are considering registering for the programme.
Our programme
Semester One - 2026 - SIGN UP NOW!
- Selwyn Marathon. Sunday May 31st, 2026. More info here!
- 9-week training block starting March 16 2026
- Registrations open from March 7th 2026
- The scenery of the event is really that of Selwyn, with the Town of Lincoln and all the development going on, coupled with the country and rural feel, even a run through a vineyard. The route takes you through Rossendale Wines off the Akaroa Highway and back out onto Old Tai Tapu Road.
Your support package
- Receive a 9-week training programme.
- Two group runs a week with pack leaders (Monday & Wednesday evenings).
- One long run around campus, one shorter/faster run throughout Ilam Fields.
- Training and support provided by UC Athletics running coaches.
Semester Two - TBC
- Queenstown Marathon. Saturday November 14, 2026. More info here!
- 14-week training block.
- Set between the backdrop of the world renowned Crown and Remarkable mountain ranges, and includes the best highlights of the Queenstown Lakes region - Millbrook resort, Arrowtown, Lakes Hayes, Shotover River, Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Gardens and finishing in the heart of Queenstown itself.
Your support package
- Receive a 14-week training programme.
- Help with booking travel and accommodation in Queenstown for your event (we do not provide this service).
- Two group runs a week with pack leaders (Monday & Wednesday evenings).
- One long run around campus, one shorter/faster run throughout Ilam Fields.
- Training and support provided by UC Athletics running coaches.
