The KiwiNet awards celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of those who strive to bridge the gap between research excellence and outstanding business leadership.

Award information

Research commercialisation is about turning scientific discoveries made at New Zealand’s universities and Crown Research Institutes and Entities into innovative products and services that will grow our economy.

The KiwiNet Research Commercialisation Awards are run by the Kiwi Innovation Network (KiwiNet) and recognise researchers, teams and organisations turning publicly funded research into innovative products, services and commercial impact.

2025 recipient

BNZ Researcher Entrepreneur Award – Professor Aaron Marshall

Recognised for his leadership in clean technology research and commercialisation, including work that led to UC spin-out Zincovery and the development of new technologies for more sustainable metals processing.
