UC has recently purchased the research metrics tool SciVal and it’s now available for everyone to use. SciVal uses Scopus data to “provide access to the research performance of thousands of research institutions and their associated researchers from 231 nations worldwide—so you can visualize research performance, benchmark relative to peers, develop strategic partnerships, identify and analyze new, emerging research trends, and create uniquely tailored reports.”
Commencing Wednesday 14 July, there will be a weekly series of webinars designed to help those new to SciVal learn to use it. The topics and a link to register can be found here.
If you’re interested in trying it out, SciVal is available here or you can access it through the Library databases page. You’ll either need to use your existing Scopus account, or create one, the first time you use SciVal.
We will be coming to departments to talk about SciVal in the coming weeks, but if you have any questions, or if you’d like individual training on how to use it, please get in touch with kiera.tauro@canterbury.ac.nz
